USE: Grease separators are used in industrial and catering plants where there is a possibility that animal and vegetable oils, greases and fats will be discharged into the environment. Grease separators are mandatory in large kitchens in, for example, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, food dispensers, slaughterhouses, and meatpacking plants. Grease separators are designed in accordance with EN 1825-1 standard.

OPERATION: Grease separators are constructed out of two parts;

  • a sludge settler, where the flow of the water is settled and sludge settles on the bottom, and
  • a grease separator, where oils, greases and fats are separated and collected on the surface of the water.

INSTALLATION: Grease separators are buried underground. They have to be installed on location with easy access for maintenance and emptying. They can be installed under surfaces either with or without vehicular access.
